  • Only funds raised through Blue Bags and/or online donations from BottleDrop Green Bag accounts during the specified time (April 22 – May 4) are eligible for the 20% match, not funds previously raised and held in BottleDrop Give accounts prior to April 22, 2024.

  • Fundraisers must follow daily bag limits (15 bags total per nonprofit, per day without a pre-scheduled appointment). If daily bag limits are not followed, all matching for that fundraiser may be voided.

Social Media Contest Details

We’ll be giving away 40 prizes of $100 each on weekdays during the match period. To participate in our social media contest, Fundraisers must register for Earth Week Give, publicly post content on social media, and post(s) must clearly identify the nonprofit organization.

Did you know that as a Blue Bag fundraiser you can also receive online donations from BottleDrop Green Bag accounts? Each fundraiser has a unique donation link – find your link by searching your name as it appears on your account on our website here.

To enter our Earth Week Social Media Contest, make a post on Facebook, Instagram, or X (Twitter) between April 22 – May 3, 2024 and include the following:

  • Photo/video of your nonprofit (staff, volunteer, beneficiary, etc.) with at least one BottleDrop bag (Blue or Green)
  • Information on how people can donate directly from their BottleDrop Green Bag account to your BottleDrop Give Blue Bag account
  • A link to your specific donation page on BottleDrop.com

Content must be posted with the hashtags #EarthWeekGive2024 and #BottleDropGive and tag @oregonbottledrop (Instagram & Facebook) or @ORBottleDrop (X/Twitter). Posts can be made by the nonprofit page or by individual supporters as long as it meets the requirements listed above.

From April 22 – May 3, we’ll select a total of 40 lucky winners on weekdays to each receive a $100 prize, deposited directly to the nonprofit’s BottleDrop Give account.

Participants agree to allow their content, such as photos, videos, or text, to be used and shared by BottleDrop for promotional purposes.

Earth Week Give Frequently Asked Questions

Please note: each organization only needs to complete the registration form once to be eligible for both the match and the social media contest.

After submitting your registration form, you should receive an email at the email address entered in the form with a copy of your registration. If you don’t see this email in your Inbox, check your Spam or Junk folders. Please note: each organization only needs to register once to be eligible for both the match and the social media contest.

Only currently active BottleDrop Give Blue Bag fundraisers are eligible to register for Earth Week Give. Please wait until your account is activated to register.

BottleDrop Give will match 20% of funds raised through Blue Bags and online donations from Green Bag accounts between April 22 – May 4, 2024.

Yes, fundraisers are still limited to returning a total of 15 Blue Bags per nonprofit per day. If you have multiple people dropping bags for your nonprofit, please coordinate with them or encourage supporters to only return 1-2 bags per day to ensure you are not exceeding the total daily limit.

Yes, fundraisers can make an appointment at full-service BottleDrop Redemption Centers to drop up to 50 Blue Bags. During this special promotion, fundraisers can schedule up to 2 appointments (1 per week). Appointments are limited and will be booked on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fundraisers can request an appointment by emailing fundraisers@bottledrop.com. In your email, please state the full-service Redemption Center location, date, and time you would like to visit. Appointments are available Monday – Saturday, between 9am – 2pm.

Visit our Nonprofit Search and type in your organization’s name as it appears on your account. If you are unsure how your nonprofit’s name appears on your account, log into your account and view the name that appears to the left of your current balance. This is also the name that appears on your bag tag stickers.

Log in to your online account and click the “Fundraiser Information” box from the menu of options on the left side of the screen. You can edit the description that appears on your donation page, the category associated with your nonprofit, and the city where you are located.

We recommend including information in your description for interested supporters – such as how they can obtain Blue Bags, contact information for questions, and how funds are used to help support your mission.

The social media contest will run on weekdays from April 22 – May 3, 2024.

Fundraisers can enter the social media contest as many times as they would like, but each nonprofit can only win once.

We will comment on each winning entry to alert you that the post was selected as a winner. Prize funds will be deposited directly to your BottleDrop Give account the same day.

We do our best to “like” each post. If you are nervous that we haven’t seen your post, send us a direct message on the social platform your posts appears on with a link to your post.

Yes! We are committed to our 7-day processing timeframe and will match bags processed within 7 days of the end of the match period, as matching funds allow.

Matching funds will be deposited to your BottleDrop Give account by May 22. We will send an email to the address used to register for Earth Week Give when funds have been added to your account.

Yes, each nonprofit can receive a 20% match on up to $2,000 in funds raised (for a maximum of $400 in matching funds per nonprofit).

We calculated how many bags could be dropped during the 13-day match period and then compared it with data from our 2023 Earth Week Give campaign.

Our reasoning is listed below:

  • Estimated Amount Raised from Blue Bags
    • The maximum number of bags allowed to be dropped during the match period is 265 bags with 2 pre-scheduled appointments.
      • 15 bags allowed per day x 11 days = 165 bags
      • 50 bags allowed per appointment day x 2 days = 100 bags
    • The average value of a Blue Bag dropped during Earth Week Give 2023 was $7.00.
      • 265 Blue Bags x $7.00 = $1,855.00
  • Estimated Amount Raised from Online Donations
    • The average online donation made during Earth Week Give 2023 was $52.32.
    • Fundraisers are not limited to the number of online donations they may receive from Green Bag accounts during the match period, but they are included in the individual Fundraiser cap.
  • Formula Totals
    • $1,855 from Blue Bags + $52 from online donations = $1,907 total raised
    • We rounded this up to $2,000, in case your bag values and online donations are above average.
    • $2,000 raised x 20% match = potential $400 in matching funds from BottleDrop Give
