Set Up Automatic Contributions
How do I connect an Oregon College Savings Plan account with a BottleDrop account to make automatic contributions?
- Log in to your BottleDrop account.
- When viewing your account, select Oregon College Savings Plan from the options appearing on the left side of your screen (desktop) or below Quarterly Bag Limits (mobile).
- Select the Manage button beside Connect and Manage Accounts.
- Click the Add New Recipient button.
- Choose OCSP to connect an Oregon College Savings Plan account, then enter your account details:
- Account number (starts with ‘OS’ followed by 10–11 digits)
- Account owner’s name
- Beneficiary’s name
- Monthly contribution amount ($5.00 minimum)
- Click the Save Changes button, and you’re good to go!
Keep in mind, you can connect more than one BottleDrop account to an Oregon College Savings Plan account, so friends and family can regularly gift their deposits to your kid’s account.
If you wish to do a one-time transfer of a different amount, you can do so by selecting the Transfer button next to One Time Transfer, after you have connected your accounts.

Yes. You must have a BottleDrop account to use BottleDrop to transfer your bottle and can refunds to an Oregon College Savings Plan account. Note that you don’t have to use Green Bags. If you return containers using a self-serve return machine, you can take the voucher to a kiosk and put your returns into a BottleDrop account.
Yes. After you have connected an Oregon College Savings Plan account with your BottleDrop account, you can create automatic recurring transfers. Log in to your BottleDrop account, click on College Savings, then click on “Set up recurring transfers.” Note that there is a minimum $5 transfer, and your BottleDrop account must have sufficient funds for transfers to be processed.
It’s simple. BottleDrop has partnered to securely connect BottleDrop accounts to Oregon College Savings Plan accounts. When you initiate a transfer from your BottleDrop account, we set up a secure transfer, and the funds will be placed in the Oregon College Savings plan that you selected when setting up the transfer. The minimum transfer is $5, and a recurring transfer will be rejected if your BottleDrop account does not have sufficient funds.
One report is pulled for both manual and monthly transactions on the 26th of each month.
Manual transactions are withdrawn immediately from the BottleDrop account. Monthly transactions are withdrawn from the BottleDrop account on the 26th of each month when the report is pulled.
This report is sent to SumDay for verification before being deposited into your OCSP or Able account. Please allow up to 3 weeks after the 26th of each month for the funds to appear in your 529 account.
The program only works with Oregon College Savings Plan accounts.
