CASA of Polk County Inc.

Our Mission is to recruit, train, guide, and support volunteers appointed by Polk County Oregon judges to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in the judicial dependency system. Court Appointed Special Advocate-CASA volunteer is a community citizen who has been trained and sworn in by a Judge to advocate for the best interest of children who have been abused and neglected and are dependent wards of the state. By visiting the child, interviewing those involved in the child's life, and working with the case workers, CASA volunteers strive to see each child placed in a safe and loving home as quickly as possible. By gathering information regarding the child's circumstances, attending court proceedings, and writing court reports, the CASA volunteer is able to make recommendations to ensure the child’s medical and dental, educational and emotional needs are a top priority. In addition, CASA volunteers represent the child's wishes, giving the child a voice in court, and thus in their future. A CASA volunteer is a person the child can count on and is often the only consistent person in the child’s life during their time in foster care. DONATE your Bottles & Cans TODAY to support our CASA Program and the children that we advocated for!
