Tualatin High School IB Diploma CommuniCare

Our IB Diploma students are pairing with CommuniCare to give funds to local non-profits addressing areas of need in our community. Our mission statement is: The IB Diploma Communicare students at Tualatin High School will be granting money to organizations that address food insecurity within communities most affected by COVID-19 in the Portland Metro area. Food insecurity plagues many people throughout the United States, including Oregon and the Portland Metro area, every year, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only aggravated this issue. We aim to help these people whose food insecurities have been exaggerated by unemployment and progressive poverty. We hope to see improvement on food-related stressors in under-served communities, so food is one less problem that needs concern, allowing for families to live their best and most successful lives.
