The Portland Alumnae Chapter (PAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Delta) is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. Our mission is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. We center our major programs and services around Delta’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust. Economic Development (spreading financial education through the community by creating programs that focus on financial planning, debt management, savings & investments, retirement planning, homeownership, insurance, estate planning, and entrepreneurship) Educational Development (providing educational programs designed to assist African American youth ages 11-18 with academic, social, and leadership support and guidance) International Awareness and Involvement (providing strategic support to address the plight of people across the African diaspora, particularly the lives of women and girls) Physical and Mental Health (promoting and encouraging physical and emotional wellness, as well as awareness and advocacy, among the families and communities we serve) Political Awareness and Involvement (fostering local, national, and international political awareness in the Black community, with a particular focus on voting rights, gender equality, access to affordable health healthcare, and other issues)
