The communicare team at Creekside Community High School is concerned about the limited availability of mental health resources available to adolescents and young adults in the Portland Metro area, primarily people part of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. This issue is important to us because it has not only impacted students on this team, it is also something that is connected to many other challenges people face in their day-to-day lives, and yet lack the support for the changes they need. We would like to support organizations who are focusing on minorities and working to provide mental health services in order to serve more people and to help lessen the stigma of mental health challenges, as well as organizations using effective methods to improve mental health and help young people process trauma they may have experience in a healthy way. we're a group of students at creekside community highschool in tigard. we are acting as grant makers for non-profit organizations providing mental health services.
