Partnered with the Michael Phelps Foundation: Jerry Adams Aquatics Resilience ("JAAR") Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that teaches specialized, developmentally appropriate water-safety swim skills to neurodiverse children. We provide participants with 12 free, private lessons along with free equipment, so they know what to do in a water emergency. The JAAR team is committed to ending drownings, which are all preventable deaths. While teaching water-safety skills, we simultaneously strive to increase participants’ mental fitness. JAAR program believes providing healthy roles models, and a consistent safe space with a safe sport supports the physical and mental wellbeing of participants. Our twofold mission is to end drownings while building up emotionally resilient children, who can face, and ultimately overcome, life’s adversities.
