National Historic Site, One-Room Schoolhouse:
Nestled in the trees north of Corvallis, Oregon, the historic Soap Creek Schoolhouse stands as a reminder of the time when one room was enough to make a school. Built in 1935 during the depression when schools were built closer together to accommodate the children who walked to school, this well-preserved schoolhouse allows the visitor to step back in time to a by-gone era.
The primary purpose of the Soap Creek Schoolhouse Foundation is to maintain the building in ways that are consistent with its architecture and period.
