Fox Farm is the school garden at Free Orchards Elementary School in Cornelius, Oregon. The volunteer-led program provides 30-minute weekly sessions for all grades at the school.
Curriculum is grade-specific, but starts with the basics; how to plant a seed and grow it until harvest. Students enjoy the fruits of their labor, making salads and salsas, bouquets and more with the plants in their garden.
Working with other schools in our district, we provide the opportunity for our elementary students to interact with high school students that donate their class time to improving our gardens as well.
