We are a school for K-12 students in an area of approx 75% poverty rate. Our students are encouraged to fund raise for there extra curricular activity due to budget terms. We don't have a 501(c)(3) status.
Altrusa is an international non-profit organization making our local communities better through leadership, partnership, and service. Our club offers an opportunity to make a real difference in Douglas County. We undertake a variety of service, literacy, fundraising and international projects each year. We promote youth literacy in the community and we provide scholarships each year to graduating seniors for college.
The YMCA's Vision is Strong Communities Inspired through Family, Fitness, Faith and Fun. We provide affordable child care as well as financial assistance to families that can not otherwise afford child care and before and after school programs for their children. Last year Amberglen YMCA gave over $60,000 in scholarships. We also work with state programs and other funding organizations that help support families in accessing child care. Each year we raise funds to help provide these scholarships.
Ameena Project is a charity that gives 100% of all funds raised to run a school in a former slum community in Kenya. The school provides both education and nourishment for children.
