Oregon Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is also a no-kill shelter, so the dogs stay at the facility until they find their families. The group was started in 2007 by two women who, at the time, had 12 years of rescue experience. Our dogs come from overcrowded local shelters, owners who can no longer keep their dogs (following an evaluation), and from high-kill shelters all over. Our facility is located in Portland, Oregon.
While at Oregon Dog Rescue, the pups spend their days in playrooms, where they can socialize with each other and interact with Staff and Volunteers. The dogs are spayed or neutered as soon as they arrive, brought up-to-date on their vaccinations, microchipped as well as de-wormed and flea treated. Staff members evaluate our residents to see what type of family would be best for each one. We are devoted to placing our dogs with the best matches for them and assuring the long-term success of each adoption. Our staff is available for follow-up care and for the lifetime of the pet.
Since our first adoption, we have helped over 17,000 pups find their forever homes.
